Frequently Asked Questions

How much are driving lessons?

Lessons are £42 per hour, or £380 for a block of 10 hours. These prices are indicative, so if you would like a block of more or fewer than 10 lessons, just contact us. See our prices.

Which areas do you cover?

We mainly operate in the Airdrie, Bishopbriggs and Baillieston test areas, but can accommodate enquiries from further afield. See areas covered.

Who will teach me?

Our instructor is David Hamilton, a former BSM driving instructor with over 40 years of driving experience. Read more about David.

What car will I learn in?

You will learn in a dual-controlled Citroen C3 HDi, which is regularly serviced by Citroen. The dual controls mean your instructor can help you if needed while you develop your skills. See the car.

Can I book single lessons or a block?

Both individual lessons and block lessons are available. A block of 10 hours costs £380. If you have a busy schedule, we will do our best to fit you in. See driving lessons.

Do you offer intensive courses?

Yes, intensive courses are available, depending on availability. Contact us to ask about dates.

How many lessons will I need?

There is no minimum number of lessons or hours before you can sit your practical test. David will tell you how many hours he thinks you need and when you are ready, but the final decision is always yours. See the practical test.

Do you teach motorway driving?

Yes. Motorway driving is not covered in the practical test, so many new drivers take extra tuition to drive on motorways safely and confidently. See motorway driving.

I already have my licence. Can you help me?

Yes. Our refresher courses are for licence holders who want to improve their driving or tackle something they are nervous about, such as motorways, parallel parking or night driving. See refresher courses.

Can you help with the theory test?

Yes, we offer theory tuition. The theory test costs £23 and has two parts: 50 multiple choice questions in 57 minutes (pass mark 43) and hazard perception (pass mark 44 out of 75). You must pass both. See theory tuition and the theory test.

How much does the practical test cost?

The practical test costs £62 on a weekday, or £75 for an evening (from 4:30pm), weekend or bank holiday test. Book through the official gov.uk booking service, as other websites may charge more. See the practical test.

Do you sell gift vouchers?

Yes. Gift vouchers are valid for 6 months from the date of purchase and are sent by post with the recipient's name on them. See gift vouchers.
